#2 - Update on Progress, Technical Issues


As part of development, we've been looking into how we can optimize our process. Since we have one primary coder (with others providing supplementary work), we've been trying to keep actual needed coding work light. To that end, we have been researching utilizing Unreal Marketplace asset packs to expedite the process. Two that are notably part of our mechanics side:

These cover a lot of our essential mechanics, with some additional work needed to build over the HexGrids asset pack to implement our overworld functions. We are on track to accomplish this, though we are tight on time.

Additionally, we recently were experiencing issues with assets not importing correctly, and after some time, sourced it to issues with assets not being migrated into P4V (our source control for this project) properly. Now that the issue is resolved, we anticipate that it shouldn't be an issue moving forward. To those reading these devlogs, though, keep in mind that you must always migrate your assets via the tools that Unreal provides in-engine.
